Fielding & Co. of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Judging from the notation of "ROYAL DEVON" on the back stamp, it is considered to be the most popular pattern in the company's "Royals" line. A pink blush spreads gently on the cream-colored vellum, and a flower pattern reminiscent of roses is carefully drawn using copper plate transfer and hand coloring. This is a piece that embodies the aesthetic sense from the Victorian era to the Edwardian era.

Details

Since its founding in 1878, S. Fielding & Co. has made a name for itself by producing high-quality earthware with a Royal Worcestershire style of painting. The "Royals" line is the core series, and "Royal Devon" is known as a particularly popular pattern. The rounded shape of the lid, the elegant gold-lined rim, and the decoration of multiple clusters of flowers have a rich formative beauty unique to this era.

Recommended uses

If you display it on a washstand or vanity table, it will add an elegant touch to the everyday act of placing a bar of soap.
