The undulating scalloped edges and the center are intricately embossed with geometric and botanical patterns centered around a rhombus. Every time the amber glass catches the light, the pattern appears in rich shadows, and despite its large size, it is in good condition with no noticeable chips or cracks.

Details

Federal Glass was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1900, and is an essential part of the history of depression glass as a manufacturer that continued to deliver beautiful embossed glassware to homes even during the difficult times of the Great Depression. The "Madrid" pattern is a representative series that is said to have been manufactured from 1932 to 1939, and the oval serving plate is considered a special piece of the lineup that enhances the class of the table. The scalloped edges and radial pattern in the center are thought to be a strong reflection of the Art Deco aesthetic of the time, and it has a complete beauty that can be used to serve or decorate food.

Recommended uses

As a serving plate for transporting roast meat and fish dishes directly to the dining table, it has the class and size to serve as a main dish saucer.
