This is a ceramic vase made in England in the 20th century. This piece is a modern interpretation of the amphora-shaped form derived from ancient Greek and Roman storage jars, and the double handles that protrude from the left and right sides and the voluptuous body give it an impressive presence. The rough textured dark olive green glaze that covers the entire body and the biomorphic relief motif floating on the body evoke the idea of life sprouting from underground.

Biomorphic design is an organic form of aesthetics inspired by the forms of living things in nature, and is a style that was actively adopted in the mid-20th century British Studio Pottery movement. In this work, streamlined reliefs reminiscent of elongated leaves and seeds are arranged vertically across the body, and combined with the rough texture of the glaze, reminiscent of crackles, create a wild and sculptural expression.

Due to its overwhelming presence, it can be used to the fullest as a focal point in a space.
