This vibrant and dynamic Gabbeh carpet was handwoven using traditional hand-weaving techniques by skilled artisans in Shiraz, southwestern Iran, a region famous for Persian carpets. A deep forest green border elegantly frames the whole piece, and 24 vibrantly colored squares are woven into the center in a regular 4 x 6 pattern. Each square is carefully woven with silhouettes of natural motifs such as deer, trees, and flowers, expressing the deep love and respect for the plants and animals that are so closely connected to the lives of nomads.

The silhouettes of animals and plants woven into each square symbolize the wild animals that inhabit the Iranian plateau, the livestock that support the nomadic people's lives, and the precious plants that flourish in the harsh natural environment.
