This sacred and beautiful Gabbeh carpet, woven by the nomadic people of Shiraz, is based on the theme of the Yalameh (Tree of Life). Measuring just 85cm x 60cm, it features the traditional Qashqai patterns lovingly woven into the carpet.

About Yarame (Tree of Life)
Yarame means "tree of life," and is woven as a motif of "life" because it spreads its roots deep into the earth and grows tall toward the sky where God resides, enduring the harsh natural environment of the desert. It is also said to be a stairway to heaven, and because tall trees spread their roots underground for the same length as they grow above ground, they also symbolize "safety within the home" because they are strong and will not fall over.
