Kato Gozan is a ceramic artist based in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, who is known for establishing his own unique style while preserving the traditional techniques of Koseto. Koseto glaze is a modern revival of the "Koseto" glaze that was fired in Seto from the Kamakura to Muromachi periods. The iron-containing glaze undergoes complex changes in the kiln, producing deep amber and dark brown colors.
