This is a flower stand designed by Prof. BESSI, produced in Italy in the 20th century. Professor Giuseppe Besci (1857-1922) was a famous sculptor from Volterra, Italy, and the classical and delicate figurative designs he left behind have been faithfully reproduced in modern materials by the workshop that bears his name. The material used is a high-grade Italian composite called Stonelite, which is a mixture of natural marble powder and special resin. It has the solid feel and cold texture of natural stone, and the beauty of pure white, while being able to express extremely fine details.

This flower stand embodies the neo-classical style and is inspired by ancient Greek and Roman columns. The four sides are decorated with relief motifs of acanthus leaves, and the capitals of the columns are decorated with geometric reliefs. The sculptural beauty is evident in every detail, such as the vertical rope-patterned edging and the acanthus relief on the base. The material called marble powder composite is extremely hard and has the presence of a real marble sculpture, but allows for more delicate modeling. It has become established as an interior design with artistic value in high-end imported furniture stores in Japan.
